Ideas for LOTRO?!

Hey guys! I know I haven't posted in a while but that's to change, as I have now found some precious time (See what I did there ;) ) to give this blog a quick update! I was reading a another blog post about LOTRO on http://lordoftheringsonlinenews.blogspot.com/ and the post at the top is about the award winning MMORPG which is known as LOTRO (Lord Of The Rings Online). Basically the post talks about how Turbine are pushing them selfs to try and make the game fit everyone's standards. Now, if you play the game you will understand that the expansions for Rohan and other well known areas of the Middle Earth map such as, Mordor or Gondor have not actually been released, or for that matter they have probably not even started production for these areas! The latest addition to the franchise was RoI which stands for Rise of Isenguard.


Now, on this short update to my blog, what I want to know is, If you could personally add one thing to LOTRO what would it be? If you guys could leave some comments or even private message me as to what ideas you have thought of or even created, it would mean a lot!


You lot probably want to know what I would add if I could so... if i was to be 100% honest I would add more short areas like they did with Forochel, as it was just added at the time and not many people expected it! It was also great for people who were the max level at the time (50) because it gave them something new to do instead of most likely doing the same old boring thing everyday!


P.s, As you can see, somewhere below is an 8 minute video of the old tutorial of LOTRO. It's just basically so you can see what the game play is like if you were thinking about getting into it! If you are looking for other videos, get straight onto YouTube as there are some fantastic longer videos on there!!

The Hobbit Trailer!

So, there I was casually at 3 in the morning on LOTRO until suddenly, in the corner of the screen on the chat box I notice someone say "Copy and paste this link for the New Hobbit trailer, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0k3kHtyoqc" My mind was completely blown!
Everything about the trailer is just, well, FANTASTIC! From a LOTR fan point of view this just brings the epic journey to live again and you can only thank Peter Jackson's fantastic directing skills and Tolkien's brilliant writing skills for making The Hobbit a reality!
The ONLY thing I'm bothered about is the fact that the release of the film is next year in December!? Well... if 2012 does happen I guess all fans of LOTR and people who go to see the film can die happy!
Another thing I wanted to pick up on was the fact that Martin Freeman is playing Bilbo. Now, Bilbo is portrayed at times as quite an impatient,confused, sometimes happy, sometimes sad kind of character and I was thinking to my self, does he have what it takes to perfect this role?! I mean nobody can judge till we have seen the film but I hope to god he does because if he does, it will be that extra bit special in my opinion!
I also have to point out to those that don't know the fact that Legolas will be played by Orlando Bloom again, which is amazing as he is my favourite character! Also Frodo will appear in The Hobbit as Elijah Wood and Gollum/ Smeagol shall be played by Andy Serkis again! I can't wait for the release of this star studded film, definitely a contender for film of the year!


I did this post to update my blog as I haven't been on in a while as I have had plans and been quite busy. If this is my last post before Chirstmas I would like to say have a very Merry Christmas and I will try to keep my blog up to date as much as possible!

Best Scene from The Fellowship Of The Ring?!

So, I was sat here at my computer and my mind was completely blank on what to write today. So I went on Youtube and watched a few LOTR video's and got to the video of Boromir's last stand when he is protecting Merry And Pippin at Amon hen so I have decided to write something about this saddening moment towards the end of The Fellowship Of The Ring. As you can see by the title of this post I favour this scene as one of my favourite if not my most favoured scene in the film. In my opinion the way the whole scene is set out is fantastic as you just know as soon as Boromir try's to take the ring from Frodo something is wrong. From the moment Aragorn tells Frodo that he would of gone with him to "The very fires of Mordor" and the moment where Aragorn tells Frodo to flee the are quickly because Frodo's sword Sting glows blue (Danger is nearby) to the scene where Bormoir receives 3 arrows to the chest from Lurtz and still manages to valiantly battle on, this moment in the film is deifying in my opinion. 

Obviously the whole scene from my view is brilliant, but the thing which draws me into this scene the most is Boromir's Courage and the short dialect you hear between Aragorn and Boromir after Aragorn beheads Lurtz in what some would say was an epic battle. There are points like when Boromir raise his sword to his heart when he is led on the floor, which instantly tells me he knows he died for a cause and also died as the fantastic warrior he is. But what grabs me the most is when Boromir says to Aragorn "I would have followed you, my brother, my captain, my king" Now, to those of you who haven't read the books, Aragorn appears as a confidant character who is almost certain that he is the rightful heir to the throne of Gondor. So watching this scene basically spells out that Aragorn, who you first meet as Strider, has a destiny to forfill. Basically the last I will say about this scene is that Aragorn should become who he was born to be, which is the king and rightful heir to the throne of Gondor.

Obviously, other scenes such as the Stand at Weathertop, where the Hobbits Bravely face four  ringwraiths and of course the most memorable moments where Frodo is impaled by the leader of the Wraiths, the Witch King of Angmar and the point where Strider, as he is known as back then, fights the Wraiths of with the most dreaded fear, Fire! Also, not to forget the the intense battle at Moria in the chamber of Marzarbul, where Frodo narrowly avoids death again after being stabbed by the Cave Troll as he is weathering the Mithril chain that Bilbo gave to him back at Rivendell and not forgetting the fantastic scene where Gandalf the Grey bows out of the Fellowship Of The Ring as he takes on the Balrog, whom he says one of the most famous film quotes in the film, "You shall not pass!" to ensure that the other 8 members of the fellowship safely make it out of the bottomless pit that is Moria. These would be my other personal Favourites to contend with the scene of Amon Hen.

I mainly wrote this post tonight to get the fact across that if you do watch the clips on Youtube or you do just decided to give the films another watch, looking out for these parts or just getting something stuck in your head just makes the experience that extra bit special. It just makes me think of watching the trilogy for the first time again and been completely mindblown by near enough everything in the film!

You Can Search Far And Wide, You Can Drink The Whole Town Dry!

From it's kind,loving and crazy people to its fields of gold, the shire has a lot to offer for an everyday adventurer of middle earth!
Located in the north west (Eriador) of middle earth, the Shire is possibly the happiest and most joyous place on the map! By the Third Age it was one of few heavily populated areas left in middle earth, so as you can imagine with the Hobbits portraying a trait of being sneaky, things were very hectic! Being the large place that is the Shire which may I also mention is beloved by it's inhabitants, you'd be a fool of a took to come here and cause complete destruction!
If the Hobbits were ever low on supplies they need not worry, as their lands are covered in resources such as cereals,fruit,wood and pipe weed (A Hobbits favourite treat!)
To other races such as elves and dwarves and men,  many know the shire for it's well known area's such as Hobbiton and Michel Delving, (Where the mayor is located) so adventurers just make these places there priority destination as they will get information from the Bounders (Also known as the sheriffs, basically the Hobbits form of police) on where in the Shire they can keep busy or just give a helping hand to the locals who might not be able to reach the top shelf!
Throughout Lord Of The Rings, Tolkien implies that the inspiration of creating the shire came from the country that I am situated in, England, Yes you read it correctly, England! England you may ask yourselves?! Well simularites such as the weather and agriculture and not forgetting most importantly, the one many of you reading this will understand is the word "County" Yes, Shire is a synonym for County!
As I continue (hopefully) to update my blog on a regular basis I will be writing more in the future about the Shire so I hope you look forward to reading it in the upcoming days/weeks!

I also forgot to mention that judging by the picture on this post, I play LOTRO so i have basically described The Shire from LOTRO, the book and the films all in one!
